Zach’s Role at Green & Co.

Zach is a licensed business broker, specializing in working with business buyers and sellers in the area from North of Tampa down through Southwest Florida. He is based in Sarasota and loves the Gulf Coast of Florida. Zach enjoys partnering with small to mid-sized business owners to get their businesses sold. He really prides himself on working as hard as he possibly can for each of his buyers and sellers. Zach knows what it takes to get a business deal to the closing table, and he understands the complexities of the process. He makes it his goal to deliver above average service to his buyers and sellers, while helping them to achieve their goal of either buying or selling a business. 

About Zach

Zach Knight is a licensed Florida Business Broker with over 20 years of experience in helping people reach their goals. His first steps into a sales career began as a producer for life insurance at age 21. Zach quickly learned the benefit of helping people make better choices for their long-term happiness, as a rewarding experience and an exciting way to live life. He transitioned into B2B insurance sales and then found his way further into the business world by assisting large private companies and publicly traded companies’ investor relations firms connect with high-net-worth investors & day traders through investment seminars. He then found business brokerage and decided that he wanted to make it his career, and he’s been loving it ever since. 

Today, when not assisting entrepreneurs in achieving their goals, you can find Zach writing music as a multi-instrument musician, out deep-sea fishing with friends, or looking to help the next local animal shelter find homes for furry friends in need.

What is your favorite thing about being a business broker?

“My favorite thing about being a business broker is the ability to stand out by doing something different, while being able to help people in a big way. It still surprises me today when people ask me what I do for a living. I tell them and then they usually have to ask again, to get me to elaborate. "Wait, you're a broker…for businesses?" is usually the response I get. I love being able to explain what it is that I do, because I am so passionate about it. Whether it's giving a buyer the introduction to the business they eventually purchase or helping someone design an exit strategy to sell their business, it's always something new and exciting for me to handle.”

My favorite motivational quote is:

“Tom Hopkins said, ‘I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying.’ This quote speaks to me because it helps keep perspective of the situation you're in. If Thomas Edison decided to quit after his 1st failure out of the 1,000s of attempts it took for him to create the light bulb, we would all still be in the dark on what exactly it means to persevere through your failures. I like to share this idea with my sellers who have tried selling a business in the past but failed. We keep trying until we get the job done.”
